Kauai – HI

Offers a touch of everything you could ask for in a destination wedding.

The Hawaiian Islands were formed by under-sea volcanoes that erupted thousands of years ago. The island of Kauai is 5 million years old, and the oldest of the main islands.  Kauai is geologically the most mature of the main Hawaiian Islands with extensive development of lush valleys and coastal features such as fringing coral/algal reefs and sandy beaches. Nearly 50% of Kauai’s 111 miles of coastline are lined with beautiful beaches, derived mainly from wave erosion of the reefs.  Kauai’s Wailua River is the only navigable river in Hawaii.

Kauai is an island in the Central Pacific, part of the Hawaiian archipelago. It’s nicknamed “the Garden Isle” thanks to the tropical rainforest covering much of its surface. The dramatic cliffs and pinnacles of its Na Pali Coast have served as a backdrop for major Hollywood films, while 10-mile-long Waimea Canyon and the Nounou Trails traversing the Sleeping Giant mountain ridge are hiking destinations.
