Hilo – HI

Offers a touch of everything you could ask for in a destination wedding.

Hilo may not be as popular as other Hawaiian islands, but it is known for its diversity and soul, from which has developed a genuine community and aloha spirit. Once known as a sugar-town it has a diverse mix of Native Hawaiians, Japanese, Filipinos, Portuguese, Puerto Ricans, Chinese and Caucasians.

Hilo remains refreshingly untouristy, but still offers many attractions: museums, a walkable downtown, farmers markets and dozens of indie restaurants. Hilo is an ideal base for exploring and a stunning backdrop for your event.

LGBT Legal Friendly

Hilo is a town on Hawaii, commonly called the Big Island, in the state of Hawaii. It’s known for Wailuku River State Park, featuring Waianuenue, or Rainbow Falls, with its colorful mist effects. The bubbling basalt-lava rock pools known as the Boiling Pots are nearby. To the south is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to rainforests and the active Kilauea and Mauna Loa volcanoes.
