Civitavecchia – Rome

Offers a touch of everything you could ask for in a destination wedding.

Rome is the capital of Italy and offers up an array of exquisite architecture, history and scenic destinations. It’s hard to say what you’ll find most breathtaking about the Eternal City – the opulence of the Vatican, the timelessness of the Forum, the top speed of a Fiat Bambino, or the gory resonance of the Colosseum. That it wasn’t built in a day is quickly evident when you start exploring the temples, residences, basilicas, churches, palazzi, piazzi, parks, museums and fountains. All this and the Vatican too!

Civitavecchia is a coastal town northwest of Rome, in Italy. Built in the 2nd century, the Port of Civitavecchia still retains some of its original features, like the Roman Dock. The port area also includes the 16th-century Michelangelo Fort. Nearby, the National Archaeological Museum displays bronze and ceramic artifacts. Northeast of town are the Terme Taurine, the ruins of a Roman thermal bath complex.
